The Delve Expansion Launches for Path of Exile on August

You may have heard of Path of Exile, a role-playing dungeon crawler game developed by Grinding Gear Games, a studio based in New Zealand. The game has gained some popularity due to its free-to-play nature and frequent content updates, but today it's making the news for a different reason. If you're a fan of dungeon-crawling games, you've probably heard of some of the heavyweights in the genre, such as Path of Exile (PoE) and the Diablo series.

When the Delve expansion launches for Path of Exile on August 31st, it will come packed with a number of tweaks to balance. If you are you looking for more about Path of Exile Items check out our website. Grinding Gear devs have posted a detailed list of systems and abilities that will be changing with Delve's launch. In addition, and later today, the team will be posting the full update notes "alongside the Item Filter and Passive Tree Data you'll need to start planning your builds and guides". Players will find significant changes in areas including Trap Throw Time, Instant Skills, Spell Block, Movement Skills, Shield Charge and several others.

When Path of Exile's 3.0 patch launched, Grinding Gear Games added three new offensive skill gems. They also tossed in a host of support gems, but only three of them are used as actual skills: Storm Burst, Charged Dash, and Dark Pact. Both Storm Burst and Charged Dash have been regarded as disappointing by a majority of the community. Dark Pact, however, might be one of the new strongest meta skills.

Path of Exile is already a very big, very demanding game. Ever since its first public beta debut, the free-to-play action RPG has grown steadily, layering new content and mechanics onto an already complex design. With the release of the massive Fall Of Oriath expansion back in August it grew into one of the largest action-RPGs ever made, ballooning from four acts played three times on escalating difficulty settings to a single ten-act campaign taking you all the way from opening to endgame.

With the launch of Path of Exile 3.0, several changes were made in terms of monster density. This is mostly in regards to the end game mapping, the monsters throughout the story seem unaffected. However, nearly every change to monster density has lowered it, and people aren't exactly pleased. Path of Exile is an excellent ARPG built on top of an unusual economy, where every item even the most throwaway of identification scrolls has intrinsic value in both usage and trade. There's no gold or even premium currency used in-game at all, and to top it all off, there is no auction house. The only way to exchange gear is direct; player to player.

The new league and 3.0 came to Path of Exile two weeks ago. We've discussed the new content to death, and it deserves it. The Fall of Oriath expansion is excellent, and it brought quite a few new players in. Many streamers have tried out Path of Exile for the first time and fallen in love, and player counts have never been higher.
